Can you record what is on your tv from JVC Enverio gzhm300?

Just purchased a new jvc enverio gz-hm300. Wondering if you can plug it in through the component cables or through the mini hdmi cable and record what is playing on the tv? My parents have a pretty old sony camcorder that can do this function no problem, but I am not able to find this option in my user guide or on the menu ons. I do not wish to buy a tripod and try to record with glare. I have a vizio hdtv with an extra hdmi port and a component port.
