What is the best way to get a stain out of a pair of jeans? without brining them to the cleaners?

Shout...the cleaner, not the action; followed by a bout in the washing machine with detergent works for most. Had you been more specific on the stain I could have answered a little better. IE ice water works best on blood! Believe it or not some stains can be lifted using wax paper and an iron!
